Frequently asked questions
- What does a "controller" mean?
- One controller is one instance of the Zonal controller app connected to one Q-SYS Core. A single controller can manage multiple monitor zones within that Core.
- Do I need special hardware?
- You need a Q-SYS Core (any model), a Raspberry Pi 3B+ or newer per zone, and a UMIK-1 USB measurement mic. The controller runs on any Windows or Linux machine, or in Docker.
- Can I try before buying?
- Yes. Every plan starts with a 30-day free trial, no credit card required. Your license key activates the full feature set for your chosen plan.
- What happens at the end of my subscription?
- The controller continues running but stops accepting MQTT data from monitors. Existing settings are preserved. You can reactivate any time from the customer portal.
- Can I switch between monthly and yearly?
- Yes. You can switch billing intervals any time from the customer portal. Switching to yearly is prorated from your current billing date.
