These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Zonal software and related services provided by Steeplestack ("we", "us"). By purchasing a subscription or activating a license key you agree to these Terms.

1. License grant

Subject to payment of applicable fees and compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Zonal for your internal operations at your organization.

2. Subscription and billing

Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance, as selected at checkout.
All new subscriptions include a 30-day free trial. Your card is not charged until the trial ends.
Subscriptions renew automatically. You may cancel at any time from the customer portal; the license remains active until the end of the current billing period.
Prices may change with 30 days' written notice. Changes apply at your next renewal.

3. Refunds

We offer a full refund within 14 days of your first charge if Zonal does not meet your needs. Subsequent billing periods are non-refundable. To request a refund, email [email protected].

4. Acceptable use

You may not:

Sublicense, sell, or transfer your license key to another organization.
Reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the Zonal software.
Use Zonal for any unlawful purpose.
Attempt to circumvent license enforcement or machine-binding mechanisms.

5. Plan limits

Your plan specifies the maximum number of zones and controllers. Operating above these limits may result in the controller entering a degraded mode until the limit is remedied or the plan is upgraded.

6. Support

All plans include email support with a target response time of two business days. Enterprise plans include priority response and a dedicated onboarding call.

7. Uptime and software updates

Zonal is installed on your infrastructure — uptime depends on your environment. We target 99.9% availability for the license server and customer portal.

Software updates are provided at no additional charge during an active subscription. We will not push breaking changes to production releases without a major version bump and advance notice.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

Zonal is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that the software will be error-free or meet every requirement. Use of the software for safety-critical applications is at your own risk.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions.

11. Changes to these Terms

We will notify you by email at least 14 days before making material changes. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
